Accident Prone

I woke up feeling ominous – the merciless sun was shining brightly through my blinds and Edward had already left for his ‘camping trip’.

“Urgh!” this was not fair – mornings were bad enough as it is for merely existing, but mornings without Edward? What was the point of even getting up – it’d just be a stupid Edward-less day. God must hate me – why else would He make it sunny in the middle of winter in Forks of all places unless He intentionally wanted to take my Angel away and expose me to a day of Purgatory. I thought back to our (mine and Edward’s) conversation last night. Darn my pigheadedness.

It’s only one day, Edward. Even with my...disability... nothing too deadly could happen while I’m at school.” His beautiful face showed concern- concern that I secretly shared. I continued, hoping that he couldn’t hear the uncertainty in my voice. “Besides, Alice would have said if she’d seen something the moment you knew that it would be sunny. ‘Built in radar’, right?” I tapped his head, joking about something he’d said to me the first time I’d experienced the horror-show that he called driving.

Hmm.” He didn’t sound too convinced. “That may be true for anyone else, love, but with you I’ve come to expect the worst. Your ability to attract danger never ceases to worry me.” I silently agreed with him – even a flat surface could cause me unspeakable damage due to my treacherous feet. Not that I was going to let him know that.

You’re just over-thinking it, Edward. I’ll be fine.” I smiled encouragingly.

I hope you’re right.” His face lit up in response to my smile – my favourite lopsided grin adorning his face. Before he could react I leaned over and pressed my lips to his. After his initial shock, I felt his arms creep around me and hold me to him, our lips moving in synch, until I got a bit...carried away...and he gently separated our bodies. I pouted as he tucked me in (what am I, five years old?) but he just laughed and placed a tender kiss on my forehead, his cold lips brushing gently against my skin. “Goodnight, love.”

The sun was now shining onto my bed, making it too warm for any continued habitation. Groaning, I rolled out of bed and pulled on a shirt and jeans and dragged a brush through my hair. At least Alice wouldn’t be there to comment on my appearance – although if that meant no Edward than I couldn’t really see it as a silver lining.

Glancing at the clock I noticed that I was running a few minutes late. If I wanted to get to school before the bell I’d have to leave pretty now-ish. Oops. I grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl on the kitchen table and rushed out to my truck before driving off as fast as I dared (still keeping below the speed limit might I point out)and headed towards Forks high.

************

The morning passed pretty uneventfully – I only had a few minor collisions and trips in the corridors in between lessons (much to Edward’s Fangirls’ amusement) and escaped from my encounters with the floor pretty much unscathed. It seemed that Edward’s concerns had been nothing. That was, however, until lunch break.

I was just on my way to the cafeteria, to obtain much needed sustenance, when I bumped into Eric in the corridor (never take the word ‘bump’ from me as ever anything other than literal). I started apologising quickly when I noticed that he had dropped something on the ground – a big, heavy piece of set from the drama club’s room. Way to go, Bella. Eric explained that the drama teacher had asked him to move the set piece to the performance hall, but had been struggling to move it when I’d collided with him. Seriously, how could I miss such a big obstacle? Feeling guilty, I offered to help.

With much struggle, as Eric was actually still taking most of the weight, we finally managed to get the piece to its new home. We were just placing it in the right position so that it would stay put when Eric let go a bit too soon. As the large object leaned towards me I shoved against it with my left knee. The prop went into place, but sadly my knee-cap decided to do the opposite. With a loud crack (and a yelp from me) it slid to the side, causing me to collapse into a heap on the floor. Luckily the impact popped my knee-cap back into place, but that didn’t stop the pain. Owowowowowowow. Eric just stared at me in shock. I looked up at him pleadingly.

“Owowowowowowow?” This seemed to snap him out of his shock (pheh- his shock!) and he ran off to get the school nurse, leaving me sitting on the floor and shaking slightly.

A short while later I looked up to find the school nurse standing over me.

“Bella?” Her voice was full of concern, as was her face – I think Eric may have exaggerated events a little. Once she had observed that there was no blood, she started examining my knee while I explained what had happened – breaking my sentences with yelps of pain as she prodded the tender area. After a while she stood up, shaking her head. “Well, dear, it doesn’t seem like anything’s broken. I think you just dislocated your kneecap that’s all. As it’s not swollen we’ll just give you some pain killers and support it then see how it goes shall we? You should probably keep your weight off it so I’ll call Chief Swan to come and take you home. If it still hurts bad tomorrow or swells up you should probably get an X-ray, ok?” She and Eric then helped me up and acted as human crutches as they led me to the Infirmary where I was sat on a chair and told not to move while the nurse called Charlie and then made me a cup of hot chocolate.

Sadly, my reclined position did not agree with trying to sip from a Styrofoam cup, and boiling hot liquid spilled over my hand. The nurse helped me hobble towards the sink and ran my hand under cold water.

“Oh dear, it’s just not your day is it?” It really wasn’t. First no Edward, then the knee: and now this. Someone really must hate me. To top it off the scald on my hand was burning like heck. Worst. Day. Ever.

Charlie eventually came and picked me up, saying that he’d get one of the other cops to get my truck for me. We drove home in silence (I wasn’t exactly in the best of moods) and before leaving he helped me onto the couch in the living room, where it seemed like I would have to stay for the foreseeable future until someone came and moved me. I watched daytime T.V. for a while, trying to ignore the throbbing pain from both my hand and knee. After an hour I was just about ready to break something when I felt cool fingers envelop my burning hand.

“Alice told me that you’d had an accident.” His eyes were full of worry as he took in my predicament. As I explained what had happened and what the nurse had said, his face grew even more concerned, and he gently wrapped his arms around me in a comforting embrace. We sat there for the remainder of the afternoon, watching some old black-and-white romance, one of his arms wrapped around my waist as I leant against him, and the other cool hand gently stroking my injured knee and relaxing my tensed muscles. Every now and then he would place a kiss on the top on my head and whisper that he loved me in my ear. Suddenly the worst day of my life turned into one of the best.

If being a chronic klutz meant that I got looked after like this, perhaps getting injured wasn’t so bad after all.

You Know, To Me You Are Perfect

Your beautiful eyes stare right into mine
and sometimes I think of you late at night
I don't know why
I wanna be somewhere where you are
I wanna be where...

I rushed out of the plane, eager to meet my wonderful boyfriend. I hadn’t seen Jasper in so long. When I went away to go help my best friend Bella with her wedding, I missed Jasper the whole time. I did my best to not complain, but I missed him so much.

I loved remembering the twenty-four years we had spent together. Living next door to him, was the best thing that ever happened to me. We were friends for a long time, and knowing that he loved me, made me want to see him more.

I looked around for the face I was excited to see. After the long months away from my friends and family I was unbelievably torn from not even getting a glimpse of him every hour or even a day.

your here, your eyes are looking into mine
so baby, make me fly
my heart has never felt this way before
I’m looking through your
I’m looking through your eyes..

I scanned the crowd and spotted the man I constantly thought about. When our eyes met we were ten feet away from each other. Although I wanted to run and embrace Jasper, I stared into his beautiful eyes, just like ocean blue. His blonde hair fell into his eyes, and I noticed it had grown a bit or maybe it was me imagining. His lips turned into a grin, and he pulled out a poster from behind him. I looked at him confused, but I focused my eyes to read the words. Alice promise me, you’ll always love me

I wake up, I’m alive
in only a little while, I’ll cry
cause your my lullaby
so baby, come hold me tight
cause I, I wanna be everything you need
I wanna be where...

I smiled at the words I saw. The big simple letters were written in my favorite color. I giggled girlishly, and nodded my head. He smiled to show me he understood and let the poster slip from his fingers, as it fell to the floor. I took a step forward, and another poster replaced the first one first one. To me, you are perfect

your here, your eyes are look-in into mine
so baby, make me fly
my heart has never felt this way before
I’m looking through your
I’m looking through your eyes..

I smiled viciously at him, and I saw him take a step toward me. I felt my suspicion grow like wild fire. I took a few steps more toward him, and nodded my head, encouraging him to go on. If it was even possible his smile got bigger. His perfect white teeth glowed, as he let the poster fall to leaving one more. You should know that I would like to ask you one question

Just as long as your mine
I’ll be your everything tonight
let me love you, kiss you
baby, let me miss you
let me see your...
dream about, dream about your eyes
eyes, eyes, beautiful eyes...

I took dainty, slow steps closer as he dropped his final posters. His long legs walked toward me, and he closed the gap between us. He smiled, as the final step between us, was used to kneel down. In front of me I felt the tears in my eyes threatening to spill, as I prepared my answer, for the question that was unasked.

“Alice I love you so very much, with all of my heart. Will you marry me?” I smiled and I pressed my lips to his. They were soft and warm and the kiss was gentle, and short. When we pulled apart, I had my arms wrapped around him. “So may I guess that it’s a yes?” I nodded my head for what felt like the millionth time today. He wrapped his arms around my waist and though I really would have like to have started planning the wedding, I stayed in his arms and enjoyed the moments we spent together.

Young Love

Her hair blew softly in the wind; a smile was sitting on her pale face. Her eyes alive she spun in a circle until she collapsed back on the grass. The man wrapped his arms around her, on the ground. She laughed it’s was soft and sweet. He added in too, it was boisterous and happy. I watched as he closed his eyes and leant in he smelled her and she raised a dainty hand to his face.

I could smell her floral scent from here, she could see the diamonds lighting his skin from the light above. I smiled at the picture the Edward whipped his head around and smiled softly at me.

“Gorgeous isn’t she” he whispered

“Of course” I whispered too, he knew why I was here. To watch for anything unsuspecting and I would be able to get to them quicker. They needed a chance at happiness and let me tell you I was in the front seat waving a big sign for them. Edward chuckled at my reasoning “So pushy” he said

“Yes but I love you and you need this, we all do”

“Thank you” he said lifting his hand up; Bella watched with fascination as his hand twirled gracefully in the sun light adding another burst of light to flash and reflect in all directions. I felt a longing; I missed Jasper he just couldn’t be here. The temptation was too strong, I knew he was trying.

“He knows how thankful I am” he said again

“I know, best to be cautious” I said I leant against a tree. The texture felt soft, breakable under my granite body. One false move and it could be dust. “Alice” Edward said

“Sorry” I said, he knew what I was referring to

The ground underneath me was soft; it shouldn’t be it should be brittle and hard. I should be moving constantly to get comfortable. Like Bella who moves every few minutes, unlike her I could stay the same forever. It hurt me Edward would not consider turning her, or he had he just thought to ill of himself and stopped it in its tracks. I sighed as he said “Alice” the warning was to shut up and watch

I am just trying to lend you a helping vampire arm. I sighed mentally and picked up a leaf and twiddled it through my fingers. I caressed the quiver of the leaf and felt the small hairs tickling the bottom of my pinkie. I smiled as the light shun through the trees. It illuminated the forest and me. My arm shot out with diamonds, it sparkled as I moved it around. It was old news to me now but I did love when Jasper did it. I would constantly take him on trips and take hi to sunny deserted areas just to see him sparkle he knew I loved it. You would too!

“Alice please” his voice was strained

“What are you saying?” a sweet voice asked lightly

“I am just singing”

I saw her touch his lips and he sighed welcoming the new smell. “Be still” I saw a few dozen flashes

“Be carful” I warned tensing preparing to pounce

“Is it safe?” he asked

“If you believe in yourself and Bella” I said hovering just in from the edge of the trees. Edward pressed his lips to her hair and traced her face with his fingers, very gently.

“You’re doing well” I threw in

“Thanks” his voice breathless

I could only hear the hammering beat of Bella’s heart as he touched her. I knew if she were not afraid she would have closed her eyes in pleasure. She was too afraid her lips quivered and Edward saw that too. Her heart beat frantic now, I smiled. Young love!

Edward finished and laid his very carefully over heart listening to it recover and slow down. I smiled and I sat back down, I folded quickly and gracefully to the ground. “Perfect, young love” I whispered

“Truly imperfect on my behalf” he said in reply to my statement, I sighed a shook my head he deserved this why cant he under stand.

“I do” he said he twirled his fingers through her shiny brown hair.

“Stay still” Bella whispered and know Edward he did just that, he hardened and Bella froze in shock after a few seconds composed

Do stay still. I warned I wasn’t showing him what may happen I got up again and Edward twitched when he heard my startle in the forest. I stepped in a little the sparkles flaring up again.

Bella caressed his eye lids; he closed his eyes watching through me. I showed him; her small as she slid her fingers of his hard skin, a wider smile came out showing a few white pearly teeth. I smiled and watched as she leant in, I jerked my hand out and in silent I mouthed NO.

Edward sniffed again but his nose was too close to her throat and he froze Bella was holding his outstretched hand. He pulled back swiftly and I jerked forward. “Settle down” I soothed but I had a rough edge to my voice

He shot across the field I was standing behind him “Relax” I said

“I am sorry” Bella stuttered I wasn’t paying attention to her but his actions

“Give me a minute” he said to both of us, only loudly enough for her to hear

He walked back and sat down very slowly. Good I cautioned. He sank down onto his knees. “I am sorry, I just wasn’t ready” he said not finishing, she knew what he meant. I jerked out of my position and leant lightly against the tree

“I am the world’s best predator” he seethed softly

“We know” I said and stepped forward again sensing another panic attack

“I have an alluring smell” he said fingering his white button up top, giving me a whiff of his sweet smell. “Yes Edward” I said again

“We Look good to every one” he said toughing his face

“Edward” I snarled I didn’t want to say it he needed to be knocked into line.

“Then we are fast, I don’t need it” he darted to the side and grabbed the trunk of a small tree

“Don’t” I said

“And strong” with that ripped the trunk out and he hurled the trunk at another tree, by now Bella’s heart was pounding against her rib cage “Great Edward she is now officially scared of you” I said stepping forward again

“Never underestimate me” he sighed “You couldn’t out run me” he said again

“No one could” I said

“No one could beat me in a fight” he said

“Emmet could” I laughed a little it was rough and hoarse like the situation

“Good, now don’t underestimate her love before I kill you” I said pushing him forward “You scared her” I said softly he stopped short

“I know” he whispered and again in a flash was back at her side

“I am so sorry, I was out of line”

“Its fine” she said her head resting on her knees

“Ugh” he said repulsed by himself again great let’s start this whole process again

“Alice” he said in warning again

Then he smiled brightly at her, Bi polar. I sighed and sunk down against the trunk. “I am sorry again” he said

“You’re fine” Bella said from a metre away

They talked slowly and carefully bearing their whole soul to each other, their one true thought. Then Edward being Edward went and ruined it. “You smell like the finest wine to me”

She stifled shock “Or brandy a fine kind” he said gently grabbing a lock of her hair and twisted it through his fingers.

“What?” she asked

“You are the best thing in the world to me, like a drug” he made a point of leaning in and smelling her collar bone I got up again trying to find an angle to get him off her and that I would hurt her.

“Heroin maybe” he mused

“So I am your brand of heroin?” she asked a light smile playing at her lips

“Defiantly my kind of heroin” he smile dropping her hair

Sorry An; I am not doing these scenes only crucial bits, you have all read twilight. They belong to Stephanie. This is just him explaining the leaving of Forks after the first day and his brothers La tut a la Cante experiences.

Then she said “I am here, which means I would rather die. Then leave you” she whispered and then added “I am an idiot” my heart sank no she couldn’t be saying this they were meant to live happily ever after. Or whatever that is.

“Yeah you are an idiot” he sighed agreeing

“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb” he said quietly

“What a stupid lamb” Bella sighed looking across the field, his finger slid under her chin and lifted it back to him “What a sick masochistic lion”

I knew it was my time to leave, declarations meant acceptance and he had done that, it meant he would never endanger her life again. In this sense “Good bye” I whispered

“Thank you so much” his voice full of raw emotion

“Your welcome” then I left the happy couple behind me. I ran home; I knew the way like the back of my hand as I did with most things. Jasper was sitting on the porch swing he smiled and put down the book he was reading it had a hard blue cover.

“How are things?” he asked gently

“Better” I whispered my head leant against his chest I inhaled his smell and looked up at him, his honey blonde hair shadowed over his forehead an his pale skin glittered softly in the fading sunlight. His topaz eye glistened with love and happiness. I kissed his my hand curled around his cheek and he held the small of my back.

I pulled back shortly after the start and whispered “Lets go find our own patch of sunlight” With that he smiled I grabbed his hand and we ran off into the surrounding forest.

Red Eyes

I shifted my weight from one foot to the other, stealing another glance over my shoulder to make sure Maria wasn’t following me. She had sent me on a mission several months ago, one that had led me traipsing through the Southern States. I was getting rather wary of her tyrannical rule.

Every sound echoed through my ears and was processed in my brain, a disgusting squirrel sat to my left on a tree branch, and a baby cried in a house to my right. I could hear the frazzled mother muttering under her breath. She was woeful about having a colicky baby and a child who was distant and unresponsive.

She was so upset; her tumultuous emotions reached me almost half a mile away. She was upset, regretful, sad and furious all at the same time. I found myself being drawn to her. I could smell the fresh baby she held: the wet, hot, new blood underneath that soft, pink skin. I licked my lips in anticipation and a growl rumbled in my chest. I could feel my throat constricting with thirst, that delicious fire scorching my neck.

I started out slowly at first, eager to prolong my sweet torture. As I neared the house, I could see the mother through the window. She was a petite, plump woman with a thick plait of dark hair that fell down her back. The baby wriggled in her arms, flailing its fatty, pink limbs. I smiled to myself.

The other child was huddled in the middle of the yard, drawing pictures in the dirt with a stick. She had a wild shock of blue-black hair that hung in limp waves around her shoulders and over her face. She was a tiny thing, so much so that she was almost unappetizing.

I stood just behind the cover of the trees, watching the clouds scoot over the sun. It would be a safe time for me to make my move; no one would miss that gangly, little thing. I smacked my lips.

And suddenly, she looked up and stared directly into my eyes, and I felt something akin to shame congeal into my stomach. She had startlingly, bluish gray eyes, opened wide enough that I could see little crescents of white around the ice blue irises. She smiled at me and then very pointedly waved to me. Her frail, little arm rose above her head and rocked back and forth.

She could not possibly see me, I reasoned. She would have had to have vampire sight to be able to see my figure hidden in the shadow of a towering pine. I took a deep breath in and held it. I didn’t want to kill her. At least I thought I didn’t.

I stepped away from the small wood, and shyly waved back to her. She answered me with a smile and another timid wave.

I began to walk forward at a human speed, not wanting to scare the child. This was my first encounter with a human that was not meant to satiate my perpetual thirst. I merely wanted to see her up close.

She continued to stare at me with those startling eyes. She remained unblinking until I was close enough to reach out and touch her. I clenched my hands into fists behind my back instead. Her little eyes continued to stare, unblinking and unmoving.

I wanted to talk to her, to ask her what was wrong.

She suddenly looked down, bashful and started rubbing the hem of her lacey dress between her little, dirt-covered fingers.

I smiled softly and unclenched my fists so I could ruffle her hair

Her tiny hands beat me there; she combed her fingers through her tresses and tried to smooth the mess down. She stared at me from under the fringe of her dark eyelashes. I wanted badly to know her name, but she shook her head almost as if she knew I was going to ask. I pressed my lips into a thin line and refrained from asking her my question.

Her emotions were mainly blank. I could detect brief flashes of happiness or sadness as her eyes darted around the yard. She didn’t acknowledge me for several more minutes. She sat nearly completely still, eyes closed and breathing deeply.

I watched her pulse fluttered through the thin, blue vines of her veins. I wanted to taste her; I wanted to relish in the feeling of rending her tiny neck with my teeth. I wanted to bury my nose into her flesh and inhale deeply so I could forever remember her scent. I wanted her to be the one to quell the monster within me.

She recoiled away from me and then looked up at me with wide, honest, blue eyes. I stared at her, trying to understand.

God, I was so far gone that I would drain a child dry without so much as a second thought.

I stood up and backed away from that beautiful, helpless, delicious, vulnerable child. Her blue eyes watched me go and she nodded, appeased. She waved to me as I went and I tried to wave back but the motion was stiff. She frowned, her eyebrows pulling together.

I wanted to tell her I could kill her. I couldn’t be her friend.

“No,” she said in a high, childish voice, “at least not yet.”

I couldn’t understand what she meant, and I figured I’d never know. I turned and loped back to the tree line, hiding myself quickly.

She didn’t look back at me, and that was the last time I would see her blue eyes. However, I decided to hide myself in the foliage of one of the trees and I watched her for that afternoon.

Occasionally she would draw a picture in the dirt surrounding her, and sometimes she would stare into the distance for an innumerable amount of minutes.

Finally at dusk, her harried mother came outside and scooped her up. Though she appeared to be older, she was still small enough to be carried like a toddler. She wrapped her tiny arms around her mother’s shoulders and buried her head into the crook of her mother’s neck.

Her mother cooed softly to her, and placated her wild hair. I frowned, suddenly missing my own mother and craving companionship.

The little girl sighed, and started to speak in incoherent sentences. She was mumbling, so I couldn’t understand her.

The mother’s emotions spiked to fear and disdain. She hated the fact that her firstborn was incompetent. I wouldn’t necessarily have called that little girl incompetent. She was beautiful and different, even for a human.

The mother sighed and hugged her little girl closer to her chest, and her emotions turned to disappointment. “Don’t talk nonsense, Mary Alice. You know real people don’t have red eyes.”

The Final Touch

This is, of course, another Alice/Jasper story. I think it will just be a one shot but if you like it and want me to continue, I will. I like the idea and its going to be an extremely long one shot but oh well. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Alice, Jasper, or any of the Cullens. I do own Dylan (a girl name) and Jacoby though.

(Apov)

I was walking down the stairs holding hands with Jasper. Carlisle and Esme were out hunting. I saw Rosalie and Emmett all cuddly in the living room watching some TV. We walked into the kitchen and saw Edward and Bella getting Renesmee some food.

“Hi Aunty Alice!” she said when she saw me.

“Hi Nessie! How are you today?” I asked her. She was one of the happiest little girls I knew. My non-beating heart melted every time when I saw her.

“I’m good!” she said. Bella and Edward just took her food and went to the living room. They knew she wanted to see us.

“What about me Nessie? Do I not get a hello?” Jasper asked. He loved her just as much as me.

“Oh Uncle Jasper, you can have more!” she said well running up to him. He picked her up and spun her around. Her little laugh sounded like cute little bells. Then he gave her a big hug and put her down. She made him so happy.

“You be good for mom and dad, okay?” He had a big smile on his face.

“Okay, I will. I’m hungry. Bye,” she said following her parents out to the living room. Jasper and I just laughed.

“What do you want to do?” Jasper asked me.

“Want to go shopping?!?” I asked teasingly. I shopped way too much.

“No, to tell you the truth, I think I have had enough shopping for one week. Want to go for a walk?” he suggested.

“Okay.”

We walked out to the back and out the glass door. Hand in hand we walked over to the edge of the woods. We walked right in and down the path that leads to Edward and Bella’s house. We just kept walking and were wrapped up in our own thoughts. We enjoyed this time together. Just being able to think without Edward knowing my every thought was a relief. Plus when I was with Jasper, I was always happy. I was thinking about how much I had always wanted children. Every time I saw Nessie I thought of this. Jasper would be the perfect father. But I didn’t know if he wanted kids. It was they way he acted with Renesmee that made me think that he would be the best dad a kid could ever have. It was around sunset when I started talking.

“Jasper?” I asked hesitantly.

“Yes my love?” he said wondering what was on my mind.

“Well, I know this might sound a little weird but,” I stopped and took an unnecessary breath. I knew that he could feel that I was scared to ask this question.

“Alice, don’t be afraid to ask me anything.”

“Okay, well, have you ever wanted kids?”

He was speechless for a moment, probably just pondering my question. Maybe wondering what brought it on.

“Well, before Renesmee, I had always thought it would be nice, but I thought we were perfect the way we were. I liked how it was just you and me. But after little Nessie was born I wanted kids a lot more. I thought about a lot more and wanted a little family. I knew it would make you happy. I never knew your opinion because we never discussed it. But why are you asking?”

“Well, I have always wanted kids and I have always thought that you would be the world’s best father but I never knew how you felt on the matter either. It's just the way that you act with Nessie that made me think that. I know its true happiness coming from her. And I know that we can’t have kids but there is always the option of adopting.”

“Alice, honey, we can’t bring a kid into a life like this. Think about what it would have to go through. We can’t bring an innocent kid into a life of killing. How would a child handle that?”

“I know, I know! I’m sorry. I just have to get over it,” I said yelling. Now I was just annoyed with myself for thinking of something like that. By now we had walked so fast we had made a whole circle around the house. The sun had set and it was pretty dark. We went right in. Annoyed, I walked straight upstairs and wasn’t quiet about it eiher. I pounded the stairs beneath my feet and all through the hallway. Jasper followed shortly but gave Renesmee a quick hug. I was already in my pajamas and was sitting on the bed. I was lightly dry sobbing, trying not to let him see. I just wanted to think about things tonight. Let my mind wander. Jasper didn’t bother putting on pjs. He just wore some old shorts and a t-shirt. Then he came over and sat next to me. I knew I was going to burst soon. Just thinking about what Jasper said made me seem so selfish and evil. I was a horrible person. He new I felt that way so he tried to soothe me. But it just made me feel worse.

(Jpov)

I felt so bad. I know that Alice wanted kids. I was upset that I couldn’t give her any. I know that Rosalie and Esme had always anted kids too. Even Emmett and Carlisle wanted some to. I thought that it would make us look like normal families. I sat next to Alice on the bed. I knew she was deep in thought about what I had said. I felt sadness in waves just flowing off of her. I wrapped my arms around my angel wanting her to be happier. Instead I got the opposite.

“Oh Jasper! I’m so selfish! How could I ever think of something s-s-s-so cruel like that? I would never do something like that. I am just an awful-l-l person!” she said. She was dry sobbing into my shoulder and was squeezing my hand. I just pulled her closer and hugged her tighter. I put my face in her hair. She smelled like lemons and oranges. It was so calming. It helped me think of what to say to her next.

“Alice, babe its okay. I understand completely where you are coming from. Don’t worry about it,” I said trying to soothe her tearless sobs. I stroked her face with my hand and kissed her on the forehead.

“But I’m just so se-selfish to even think of th-that,” she closed her eyes for a moment and she stopped sobbing. “But just think of our kids. If it was a boy, he would think you were the coolest dad ever cause you would play with him and teach him so many different things. If it was a girl then she and I could go shopping and I could do her hair and nails. She and Nessie would be best friends and hang out all the time. Spoiling our kids rotten and the teaching them the right thing…then spoiling them again. But other then that we would listen to them and care for them and help them and love them. We would be amazing parents.”

“We would be,” I said thinking about what she had just said. I could just imagine little kids playing with me out in the yard and Alice and I going out as a little family. It would be the most prefect thing in the world. “We really would.”

I hated when Jasper went hunting without me. I felt alone. But I was taking care of Nessie for Edward and Bella while they were hunting too. Actually everyone had one but me and Nessie. So we went out to have fun for the day. It was a nice day out and we were sitting on a bench in the park. We had run around and played for a while. But now she was holding my hand and enjoying her strawberry ice cream that I had gotten her. Bella hated when I spoiled her but Edward didn’t. She was so a daddy’s girl. So I just went ahead and spoiled her rotten. I was looking over at Renesmee when a small breeze blew. I heard a paper rustle beneath our feet and I looked down to see what was. I picked it up and it was a add from a newspaper. I looked at it and gasped. It was advertising adoption for half people. Wondering what it meant I grabbed Nessie and ran home. She was complaining the whole way there because her ice cream flew out of her hands. I went to the computer and typed in the URL. I on the home page it was just talking about adoption, but then all of the sudden something flashed on the screen. It was so fast; only a vampire would be able to read it. It said “Press F1.” So I did. A brand new page came up. It was talking about vampires. About half way down the page it said “Half-Human, Half-Vampire.” I immediately clicked on that and it brought up yet another page with pictures of beautiful babies. It turned out that they were babies like Nessie and they were up for adoption. I screamed and jumped up and down. Jasper would be so happy when I told him. I had a vision of us on a plane with a baby bag and literally bouncing up and down. Then I heard the door open downstairs. Before anyone moved, I was downstairs. Edward was smiling and told me congrats. Then Bella walked in a grabbed Renesmee. Everyone else walked in and Jasper was last. I was guessing that he felt the extreme happiness coming off of me because he gave me a puzzled look. I ran into his arms and kissed him.

“God Alice, I knew you missed him while he was gone, but I didn’t know it was that bad,” Emmett said cracking himself up.

I couldn’t speak so I just grabbed Jasper’s hand and led him upstairs.

I walked in behind everyone else after we got home. I felt an extreme happiness as a walked in and when I saw Alice I gave her a questionable look. All of the sudden she ran into my arms and kissed me. I was a little puzzled but I let it slide. I was wondering how her day with Nessie went.

“God Alice, I knew you missed him while he was gone, but I didn’t know it was that bad,” Emmett said laughing. Alice was still happy so she grabbed my hand and led me upstairs. It looked like she had been on the computer. She had a window opened. But then I got a better look at it. I gasped at what I saw. It was an adoption website for kids just like Nessie.

“Alice? How did you..?” I couldn’t finish.

She picked up a piece of paper if the desk and showed it to me. Typical Alice to look into what half people meant. Thank goodness she did or else we would have never found two beautiful kids. It took hours. We just sat in front of the computer and look at each kid. We picked two younger ones. A boy who had black curly hair and a girl who had a cute, blonde bob.

We were on the plane home with little Dylan on my lap, and Jacoby on Jasper’s. We spent a lot of time in the past four days coming up with names. I had always thought Dylan was a cute girls name and I LOVED the name Jacoby for a boy and Jasper and I finally agreed to those on the plane ride to get them. We were so happy that we had two kids now. It was what we had always wanted and now our family was complete.

The lady who ran this adoption was a vampire. She found kids like ours stranded in the streets. Their parents leave them there to die so the Volturi wouldn’t come for them. She took them in and sent out flyers to all the vampires she knew. They went so fast. She put an ad in the paper hoping to catch attention. She gave us her number for Esme, Rosalie, and even Bella. She wanted more kids too. Now we were going to our newly built house and with our kids would be one happy family. They were the final touch.

“Jacoby! Dylan! Dinner!” I called. The two little rascals where playing with some toys upstairs. They had been up there for hours. They loved to just play together. They were the best of friends.

As they were running down the stairs laughing, Alice said to me, “They get along so well. We got the two best kids.”

“We really did.” I replied while giving them each a plate. Even though they preferred blood, Alice and I had decided to have them eat more human food too. So tonight we gave them some chicken with a few carrots. We gave them their blood in a cup as their drink. It was very little so that was the first thing the two gulped down. Then they finished off the last of their food.

“Daddy? Can I have some more?” Dylan asked.

“Oh! Me too! Me too!” Jacoby agreed.

“Of course,” I said grabbing their plates. Alice was becoming a pretty good cook, having to feed two mouths was a lot of work. She was over by the stove and she put some more on each plate. Then I brought them back over to the kids and the polished it all again. Then there was a knock on the door.

“I know who it is!” Alice said. The two kids ran over and opened the door. Standing out side was Edward, Bella, Renesmee, Jake, Esme, Carlisle, Michael, Emily, Emmett, Rosalie, Jessie, and Ryan.

“Hi everyone!” I said. I could feel all the kids’ excitement just flowing in. They all loved spending time with each other. Ever since we got our two little kids, about a month ago, Esme and Carlisle had gotten two kids, Michael, who has a cute, freckle face red head and Emily, who had hair just like Bella’s. Emmett and Rosalie had gotten Jessie, who had black curly hair and Ryan who had blonde curly hair. All the kids started to run upstairs.

“Wait!” Alice said. All the kids turned to look at her. “First, I want one big giant hug!” All the kids came running downstairs I flocked to her and all of the sudden you couldn’t see her anymore. Just a whole bunch of kids. Then they all stepped back, knowing something else was coming.

“Second,” she turned around and opened the oven. “Cookies!” She pulled out a big pan of giant cookies. One for each of the kids. They grabbed them and ate them quickly. There were a few thank you’s and then they ran upstairs. Then all the adults sat around the table.

“Thank you for the cookies for the kids Alice,” Esme said.

“No problem, there was nothing else to do. The kids were playing upstairs all day,” she replied.

Then Renesmee came down.

“Did you need something sweetie?” Bella asked.

“Can Jakey come up and play with us?”

“Of course I can,” he said and they went back upstairs. We all started talking. Then Alice and Edward started laughing.

“What?” we all asked.

“Oh, you will see later,” Edward replied and we all settled back into our nice conversation.

About an hour later, Jake came down groaning. Alice and Edward started laughing again. When he came around the corner, we all did too. It looked as if the kids had fun playing dress up and Jake was the mannequin.

“Don’t laugh,” he said and then all the other kids came down running behind and Renesmee jumped on his back. This was the way life would be for the just of eternity, and I think that we were all just perfectly happy with the way it turned out.
