Lists
Leah had been making lists for as long as she could remember.
It helped her think; helped her add order to her life.
She kept her lists, too. She had a shoe box full of them, titled everything from “Reasons why I should get a new toy” to “Reasons why my life has fallen apart.”
The lists didn’t tell Leah anything she didn’t already know, they just got her thoughts out of her head, helped her see things in a different way.
Leah took out a piece of paper, and in neat handwriting, she labeled it, “Reasons why I am not in love with Jacob Black.”
Time passed, and the page was still blank.
This was not the list she needed to be making.
Taking out a new piece of paper, she wrote across the top, “Reasons why I am in love with Jacob Black.”
The words poured out of Leah’s head faster than she could write them down.
